Te‘o, a standout linebacker who was born in Laie and attended Punahou School, is about to begin his second season with the Chargers. In 2013, Te‘0 started 13 games for San Diego and finished with 61 tackles and 4 passes defended.

Before joining the NFL, Te‘0 was an All-American for the University of Notre Dame. In 2012, he led the Fighting Irish to the National Championship Game and was one of only three finalists for the Heisman Trophy (he finished second to Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel). He is one of only two players in school history to record 100-plus tackles in three consecutive seasons.
